Vignerons d’Europe

Viticolturabiodinamica.it and “i vini biodinamici” took part in the “Vignerons d’Europe” event from December 5th to 7th, 2009, in Florence and Montecatini Terme.

Within the framework of “Vignaioli & Vignerons: Ten Days of Events in Tuscany Dedicated to the World of Vine and Wine,” on December 11th at 6:00 PM in Cerreto Guidi, a seminar will be held by Leonello Anello titled “Which Blend? Focus on Cerreto.”

We fully support the statements expressed in the official event communiqué:

“In recent years, driven by the global attention to climate issues and pollution affecting our planet, the wine world has been marked by a frequently disorganized debate on the most sustainable production methods.

We would like Vignerons d’Europe to provide producers with the opportunity to address this topic in depth, so that it does not turn into a mere trend, but rather becomes a future direction for European agriculture.

As proof of the above, we share the following testimony. We recently attended a conference in Milan organized by the establishment of the conventional wine sector on the theme of sustainable viticulture and winemaking. None of the twelve speakers even remotely referred to organic or biodynamic options, except in a derogatory tone.

Having applied biodynamic viticulture and winemaking effectively and sustainably for twenty years, we considered it our duty — and we hope a fruitful one — to participate in Vignerons d’Europe.”
